I know that Star Trek Into Darkness has caused you to strongly feel things but all you who write sentences like “all real Trekkies are ashamed/appalled/furious/disappointed about the movie” please remember that not all of us feel that way. Personally I enjoyed the movie a lot and I have been Trekkie forever. Well as forever as you can when you are in my age. I enjoyed the speed and the action what the original series didn’t have and I know I’m not the only one. So please, do not generalize that your opinion considers all of us.
Also I hate the attitude the older fans have towards the newer ones. The old Star Trek fans are very judgmental towards the new ones and the new fans have to defend themselves which is causing a huge collision. This beautiful universe - old or new - doesn’t need it. It is important to keep Star Trek alive and no matter what point of view is used to make it it should never be forgotten. The reboots and different ways to approach the universe give the new fans a possibility to join in this beautiful universe. Some people enjoy slowness and deepness of the original series and some people enjoy speed and action. No one has right to say who is right in this because it’s all about feelings people have.
I wanted to be a part of a great fandom and great universe but now it feels like I’m reliving my kindergarten years… I used to be a proud Trekkie and now I feel like I have ended up into yet another narrow minded fandom and I don’t know if I want to be part of it anymore.
I literally hate Enjolras x Éponine pairing because it is so random and goes so far from the world Hugo created. Enjolras died for France and Éponine died for Marius. Only thing they shared was this passionate love that Enjolras felt for his country and Éponine felt for Marius.
